Overview We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Dental Office Asistant to join our team. This role is essential in ensuring the smooth operation of our dental practice, providing both administrative support and patient care. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in dental/medical office management, with experience in dental settings being a must. This position requires excellent organizational skills, a commitment to patient confidentiality, ability to work as a team player. Duties Manage patient scheduling and appointment confirmations to ensure optimal workflow. Maintain accurate patient records and manage medical records in compliance with HIPAA regulations. Assist with billing and financial management tasks, including processing payments and insurance claims. Utilize EHR systems such as Dentrix for efficient record-keeping and patient management. Provide administrative support by answering phones, scheduling appointments, provide assistance with insurance claims responding to emails and managing correspondence. Supervise office staff as needed, fostering a collaborative team environment. Assist in the management of office supplies and inventory, ensuring that all necessary materials are available for daily operations. Support clinical staff during procedures as needed, knowledge of medical terminology a plus. Qualifications Previous experience, min of 3-5 years in a dental office is required; clinic experience is preferred. Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems such as Dentrix is highly desirable. Strong understanding of medical terminology and healthcare management principles. Experience in dental insurance. Ability to work effectively under pressure while maintaining attention to detail. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with a focus on patient interaction. Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and adhering to ethical standards in healthcare.
