Equine Veterinary Practice Manager Oakhurst Equine Veterinary Services | Newberg, Oregon Oakhurst Equine Veterinary Services is seeking an experienced, motivated, and strategic Practice Manager to lead the operations and continued growth of our established equine veterinary practice in Newberg, Oregon. Since 1996, Oakhurst has provided exceptional equine veterinary care throughout the Pacific Northwest. Our full-service clinic and ambulatory practice serves horses of all breeds and disciplines, offering advanced diagnostics, sports medicine, hospitalization, monitoring, and comprehensive veterinary care with a personalized, relationship-driven approach. This is a senior leadership position overseeing a team of approximately 20 employees and working closely with ownership and the veterinary team. We are looking for someone who can lead people, strengthen systems, improve profitability, and help guide Oakhurst into its next chapter. Key Responsibilities Leadership & Team Development Lead, mentor, and develop a team of approximately 20 employees Build a positive, accountable, collaborative workplace culture Oversee recruiting, onboarding, training, performance management, and employee development Establish clear expectations and support staff in reaching their professional goals Develop team communication, meeting, and accountability structures Identify and develop future leaders within the practice Operations & Protocol Development Oversee daily clinic and ambulatory operations Develop, implement, and maintain policies, protocols, and standard operating procedures (SOPs) Improve workflow, efficiency, scheduling, communication, and client experience Identify operational challenges and develop practical solutions Use EzyVet Practice Management Software and practice data to monitor performance and guide decisions Financial Management & Pricing Partner with ownership on budgeting, forecasting, and financial performance Develop and manage a strategic pricing structure for services and products Monitor revenue, expenses, margins, accounts receivable, and key performance indicators Identify opportunities to improve profitability while maintaining excellent patient care and client value Evaluate costs and vendor relationships to support sound financial decisions Marketing & Business Development Develop and execute marketing strategies to grow the practice Strengthen Oakhurst's presence within the Oregon and Pacific Northwest equine community Oversee website, social media, newsletters, educational materials, and other marketing initiatives Build relationships with farms, trainers, breeders, owners, equine organizations, and industry partners Identify opportunities to expand services, attract new clients, and strengthen existing relationships Inventory & Vendor Management (
- Eventually) Establish effective inventory management and purchasing systems Monitor inventory levels, usage, costs, expiration dates, and reorder points Manage vendor relationships and negotiate pricing where appropriate Reduce waste/expiration and prevent shortages through consistent inventory controls Oversee purchasing and inventory processes for medications, medical supplies, and other practice needs Client Experience Maintain a high standard of client service across all areas of the practice Develop consistent communication protocols for estimates, treatment recommendations, billing, and follow-up Address client concerns and identify opportunities to improve retention and satisfaction Qualifications The ideal candidate will have: Experience in veterinary practice management, healthcare management, business management, or a comparable leadership role Demonstrated success leading and developing a team Strong financial and business acumen, including experience with pricing strategy and government compliance Experience developing policies, procedures, and operational systems Strong organizational, communication, and project-management skills Experience with inventory and vendor management A strong understanding of marketing and business development The ability to analyze data and translate it into practical business decisions A proactive, solutions-oriented leadership style Excellent client-service skills Comfort working with technology and practice management software •Equine industry experience is required.
Equine veterinary and/or EzyVet experience is a plus

Pay:
$76,000.00 - $82,000.00 per year
