The Medical Records clerk will be responsible for maintaining all clinical and medical records and receives and verifies medical supplies coming to the facility, records information for reordering, stocks, and accounts for medical supplies and billing.
Responsibilities Include:
Be responsible for the ordering of nursing/medical supplies in accordance with facility budget and resident/patient needs. Maintain accurate and organized nursing files, records and nursing policy books. Maintain all regulatory required logs and records. Coordinate and manage accurate and complete active and discharge medical records on file. Complete discharge medical records timely and accurately, as well as ensuring the physician has signed in all appropriate sections. Collaborate with staff on purchasing of needed supplies. Seek to meet all staff/patient/resident supply needs within scope of budgetary parameters. Ability to minimize waste of supplies, misuse of equipment, etc. Ensure all requests for medical records are reviewed by the Director of Nurses and/or Administrator.
Qualifications:
High school diploma/equivalent Minimum one (1) year experience in clerical. On-the-job training provided in scheduling and medical terminology CNA preferred
