Job Overview We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Medical Records Specialist to manage and maintain accurate patient records within our clinic. The ideal candidate will possess strong knowledge of medical terminology, experience with electronic health record (EHR) systems, and a commitment to confidentiality. This role is vital in supporting efficient clinic operations and ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations. Duties Accurately organize, file, and maintain patient medical records in accordance with clinic policies and privacy standards. Retrieve and provide medical records promptly upon request from authorized personnel or patients. Ensure all records are complete, up-to-date, and compliant with legal and regulatory requirements. Utilize EHR systems effectively to input, update, and manage patient information securely. Assist with scanning, indexing, and digitizing paper records into electronic systems as needed. Collaborate with healthcare providers to ensure accurate documentation of patient visits and treatments. Maintain confidentiality of sensitive medical information at all times while adhering to HIPAA regulations. Qualifications Prior experience working in a medical office or healthcare environment, specifically with medical records management. Proficiency with electronic health record (EHR) systems and related software applications. Strong knowledge of medical terminology to accurately interpret and organize clinical documentation. Excellent organizational skills with meticulous attention to detail in record keeping. Ability to handle sensitive information discreetly while maintaining compliance with privacy laws. Effective communication skills for coordinating with staff and healthcare providers. High school diploma or equivalent; additional certification in medical records management is a plus.
