Job Description

Medical Records Clerk Join Our Team! We are an established and reputable insurance defense law firm seeking a part-time, detail-oriented, organized, and self-motivated Medical Records Clerk to join our team. This position plays a critical role in supporting our attorneys and staff by managing medical record requests, tracking responses, maintaining accurate records, and coordinating with healthcare providers, clients, and opposing counsel. The ideal candidate is highly organized, proactive, and comfortable handling large volumes of records while ensuring accuracy and confidentiality in a fast-paced legal environment. Key Responsibilities Prepare and process outgoing medical record requests, authorizations, and subpoenas. Track and follow up on outstanding medical record requests to ensure timely receipt. Review, organize, log, scan, and Bates-stamp incoming records and documents. Maintain accurate records of requests, responses, costs, and deadlines. Communicate professionally with medical providers, records custodians, vendors, clients, outside counsel, and court personnel. Assist with document management and electronic file organization. Support attorneys and paralegals with case-related administrative tasks. Assist with electronic filing of documents with courts and administrative agencies as needed. Process invoices and records-related expenses for payment. Perform general administrative and clerical duties to support the legal team. Qualifications Prior experience in a law firm, medical records department, healthcare setting, or related administrative role preferred. Experience handling medical records, subpoenas, records requests, or litigation support is a plus. Strong organizational skills and exceptional attention to detail. Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines effectively. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Proficiency with Microsoft Office and document management systems. Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information professionally. Strong problem-solving skills and a willingness to take initiative. Why Join Us?
