Full Job Description Description:
Position Summary The Medical Records Clerk / Radiology Assistant is responsible for processing medical record requests, preparing and transferring patient imaging, assisting patients and outside medical facilities, and supporting radiologists with STAT results. This position is ideal for someone who is organized, comfortable working with computers, and able to communicate professionally with patients, physicians, and medical offices. What You'll Do Process medical record requests received from patients and outside medical facilities. Monitor incoming faxes and process medical record loans as needed. Create CDs/DVDs and electronically transfer medical images to patients, physicians, and outside facilities. Answer incoming phone calls and gather necessary information to locate and release records. Coordinate the lending and distribution of imaging media to patients and physician offices. Assist radiologists with communicating STAT results to referring physicians. Travel to other X-Ray Associates of New Mexico locations as needed to perform assigned duties. Maintain patient privacy and comply with HIPAA requirements. Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
What We're Looking For High school diploma or equivalent. Basic computer skills and familiarity with the Windows operating system. Strong communication and customer service skills. Ability to research and locate information using various computer systems. Ability to operate a multi-line phone system. Ability to work professionally with patients, coworkers, physicians, and outside medical facilities. Strong attention to detail and ability to handle confidential medical information. Valid New Mexico driver's license, current auto insurance, and a clean MVD record. Reliable transportation and ability to travel between XRANM facilities when needed. Ability to maintain HIPAA privacy and security standards.
