Position Summary Under the general supervision of the Director of Coding Services. The Coding Supervisor is responsible for daily oversight of medical coding operations to ensure accurate, timely, and compliant coding for diagnoses, procedures, and services. This role supervises coding staff, monitors performance, ensures adherence to guidelines, and collaborates with other departments to support revenue integrity. The Coding Supervisor also serves as a liaison between coding, billing, and clinical teams, and plays a key role in optimizing processes, reimbursement, and compliance. Required Qualifications Must be at least 18 years of age. Proof of highest level of education completed but not less than high school education or equivalent as recognized by an approved government accreditation association. Minimum of 5 years of medical coding experience in a healthcare setting. At least 3 years in a lead, supervisory, or progressive leadership role. Certified Professional Coder (CPC), Certified Coding Specialist (CCS), or equivalent certification from AAPC or AHIMA. Proficient in ICD-10-CM, CPT, HCPCS, medical terminology, and payer-specific guidelines. Experience in coding audits, compliance regulations, and denial resolution. Proficient with EHR systems and coding software (e.g., Encoder, Meditech, 3M). Effective verbal and written communication skills. Excellent attention to detail, analytical thinking, and problem-solving skills. Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities. Strong leadership and interpersonal skills. Preferred Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent required; associate or bachelor's degree preferred. Certified Professional Coder (CPC), Certified Coding Specialist (CCS), or equivalent certification required. Additional certifications (e.g., COC, CIC, CCA) preferred.
