•$26 (DOE) Overview We are seeking a detail-oriented Health Information Technician to support a prominent healthcare organization in Commerce. Under moderate supervision, you will manage, organize, and maintain patient medical records in compliance with medical, ethical, legal, and regulatory standards. This role requires strong analytical skills, high customer service, and proficiency in electronic and paper health record systems, including EPIC. Key Responsibilities Index, retrieve, scan, and validate patient medical records with accuracy. Maintain electronic health record (EHR) systems and ensure timely physician review of records. Coordinate release of information (ROI) and handle requests from patients, providers, insurance, and legal entities. Execute daily workflows, monitor department activities, and assign tasks as needed. Review and update health information to support HEDIS Quality Measures and process electronic lab interface reports. Conduct quality reviews to ensure medical record completeness, accuracy, and compliance. Reconcile duplicate accounts, merge records, and manage data integrity issues. Assist with new hire onboarding, ongoing team training, and cross-functional collaboration. Adhere to federal and state regulations regarding patient privacy and chart documentation. Qualifications High school diploma required; RHIT certification preferred . Minimum 3 years of experience in medical records processing or customer-facing healthcare roles. At least 1 year navigating multiple EHR systems ; EPIC experience highly preferred. Proficient in medical terminology, data entry, and intermediate computer skills. Knowledge of ICD-9-CM and CPT-4 coding. Skills & Competencies Strong attention to detail, organization, and time management. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
