MEDICAL RECORDS/CHART PREP
Job Type:
Full-Time, 40 hours, Non-Exempt (hourly)
Hours:
Mon - Thurs 8:00a-5:00p, Fridays 7:30a-1:30p
Overview:
Under supervision and with a team approach, employee prepares electronic charts for scheduled appointments 24-48 hours in advance according to chart prep guidelines and assigned providers.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Demonstrates an understanding and application of Protected Heath Information (PHI) and HIPAA Privacy compliance after training. Works in conjunction with primary care facilities to gather appropriate records in preparation for new patient appointments. Utilizes online portals to gather patient records. Ensures encounter types are scheduled correctly. Communicates regarding duplicate charts and deceased patients. Locates missing documents as needed. Drops records into patient chart from fax queue. Communicates and interacts using our internal messaging platforms and EMR. Answer incoming/outbound phone calls. Releases and prepares medical records for our patients. Copies, mails, and faxes patient chart information as requested and authorized Documents all processes and interactions. Follows company policies, procedures, and values to contribute to company culture.
