Job Description
Introduction The Department of Health Services (DHS), Central Wisconsin Center (CWC) is recruiting for a full-time Electronic Health Records (EHR) Analyst. This position will work on-site at CWC during general business hours, Monday-Friday. CWC is located at 317 Knutson Drive in Madison. CWC provides short-term and long-term residential services to assist people living with intellectual disabilities in acquiring the personal skills needed to reach their highest potential. Position Summary As the EHR Analyst in the Medical Records Office, you will serve as the facility program and planning lead in coordinating and implementing strategic planning and facilitating organizational review of systems regarding EHR.Responsibilities will include:
Working with CWC partners to design and develop data mining solutions for the purposes of analyzing data to guide recommendations and information to leadership for health information sharing and resident/client privacy protocol and policy improvements. Developing facility policies, procedures, and strategic planning that improve quality of care and services provided in accordance with all federal, state, and other regulatory agency requirements. Serving on workgroups to understand EHR system impact to end users, analyze content, participate in workflow design, identify and recommend changes, evaluate, and validate development within the EHR application. Serving as the program liaison to the EHR office to properly manage, access, and define security roles within the EHR system and protect patient privacy according to relevant codes and statutes. Collaborating with the administrative team to develop information sharing and communication plan goals and identify communication strategies related to health information policies and protocols. Providing consultation and training to CWC staff regarding the use of the EHR and other medical record-related systems. Serving as the CWC Privacy Officer. Salary Information The starting pay is between $38.00 to $42.00 per hour (approximately between $79,000 and $87,300 per year), depending on qualifications, plus excellent benefits. A 12-month probationary period is required. Pay for current or former state employees will be set based on the rules that apply to compensation for the applicable transaction. This position is classified as a Program and Policy Analyst Advanced and is in pay schedule/range 07/03. Job Details All applicants who may be appointed to this position will be required to allow DHS to conduct a background check to determine whether the circumstances of any conviction may be related to the job being filled. All appointees will be required to receive a TB test, which will be administered by CWC or medical personnel approved by the facility prior to their start date. DHS does not sponsor work visas for this position, thus, in compliance with federal law, selected candidates will be required to verify eligibility to work in the United States by completing the required I-9 form upon hire. eligible employer. Qualifications Minimally qualified applicants will have all the following: Experience leading projects or workgroups. Experience in health care records management including using an electronic health records system to review or interpret medical records. Experience developing and implementing quality improvement initiatives to improve service delivery, quality of care, or other similar initiatives. Experience interpreting and applying confidentiality laws such as HIPAA laws, statutes, and Personal Health/Personal Identification Information regulations. Well-qualified applicants will also have one or more of the following: Experience designing or delivering training sessions. Experience configuring, administering, or supporting EHR systems. Experience testing or validating software in areas such as end user impact, content, workflow design, or security of information.
