Medical Receptionist Parker Cornea - 1.8 Birmingham, AL Job Details Part-time | Full-time $18 - $22 an hour 14 hours ago Benefits Health insurance Paid time off Qualifications High school diploma or GED Full Job Description Front Desk Receptionist - Ophthalmology Practice Parker Cornea is seeking a friendly, organized Front Desk Receptionist to join our ophthalmology team. This role is the first point of contact for our patients and plays a key part in creating a welcoming, efficient office experience. This position requires travel to satellite offices 1-2 days per week — transportation is provided by the practice.
Responsibilities:
Greet patients and check them in/out in a warm, professional manner Answer and route multi-line phone calls Schedule and confirm appointments Verify insurance eligibility and collect co-pays/payments Maintain and update patient records (EHR experience a plus) Assist with scanning, faxing, and general office administration Coordinate with clinical staff to keep patient flow on schedule Travel to satellite office/locations 1-2 days per week (transportation provided) to provide front desk coverage
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent required 1+ year of front desk, receptionist, or customer service experience (medical office preferred) Strong communication and multitasking skills Comfortable with computers/EHR systems Prior ophthalmology or medical office experience a plus, but not required
