Fairhope Office 188 Hospital Drive Fairhope, AL 36532 Our busy cardiology practice is seeking an experienced and personable Medical Receptionist to join our team in Fairhope, Alabama. This position serves as a key point of contact for our patients and is responsible for patient registration, appointment scheduling, check-in and check-out, and managing medical referrals. The ideal candidate will have previous medical office or hospital experience, strong communication and organizational skills, and the ability to multitask while providing excellent patient service in a fast-paced medical office environment. This is a full-time, day shift position with no weekends and paid holidays off . Schedule & Benefits Monday-Friday Day shift only No weekends Paid holidays Health insurance Dental insurance Paid time off Paid sick leave 401(k) with company match Life insurance AD&D insurance Flexible spending account (FSA) Free parking Competitive pay Responsibilities Greet and assist patients in a friendly and professional manner Register patients and ensure demographic and insurance information is accurate and up to date Check patients in and out for appointments Schedule and manage patient appointments Answer incoming phone calls and assist patients with scheduling and general questions Obtain, verify, and monitor medical referrals Check for active referrals and assist with referral-related documentation Maintain accurate patient information within the electronic medical record (EMR/EHR) system Communicate effectively with patients, providers, clinical staff, and other departments Protect patient confidentiality and ensure HIPAA compliance Provide excellent customer service and help ensure a positive patient experience Assist with additional front-office responsibilities as needed Collaborate with clinical and administrative staff to support efficient daily operations Qualifications Previous medical office or hospital experience preferred Medical referrals experience preferred Knowledge of medical terminology preferred Experience with electronic medical records (EMR/EHR) systems preferred Strong organizational and multitasking skills Excellent verbal and written communication skills Professional and friendly demeanor Strong attention to detail and accuracy Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced healthcare environment Ability to work well as part of a team Reliable transportation required Work Location Fairhope, Alabama - Fairhope Location at Thomas Hospital This position may occasionally require coverage at our Baldwin County location on the campus of Baldwin Health in Foley. Applicants must have reliable transportation and be able to travel between locations as needed.
