Field Installation Technician Summary Netlink Voice is seeking a physically active, technically proficient Field Installation Technician to lead the physical deployment of our high-performance voice and data solutions. Based in the Fairhope area, you will be the primary individual responsible for the success of our clients. Responsibilities Perform professional installation of Cat5e/Cat6/Cat6a structured cabling, including pulling, terminating (RJ45 and patch panels), and testing. Mount and configure rack-based equipment including UPS systems, managed switches, routers, and firewalls. Deploy and test desktop IP phones, softphone applications, and overhead paging systems to ensure crystal-clear voice quality. Install and calibrate Wireless Access Points (WAPs) Provide basic "Go-Live" training to client staff on how to use their new hardware and report any initial feedback to the engineering team. Technical Skills & Proficiencies TIA/EIA cabling standards and the ability to dress cables neatly in racks and closets (cable management is a priority). Understanding of Power over Ethernet (PoE) requirements and basic IP addressing to verify device connectivity. Expert use of power drills, ladders, cable testers, and hand tools for wall-mounting equipment. Ability to identify and resolve physical layer issues (bad terminations, interference, or faulty hardware) on the fly. Candidate Profile Your racks are organized, your cables are labeled, and you leave the client's site cleaner than you found it. You are comfortable working in various environments—from quiet law firms to active construction sites—and can maintain a polite, professional presence. Diligent about following OSHA standards, especially when working on ladders or in confined ceiling spaces. Qualifications & Requirements 2+ years of field experience in telecommunications, low-voltage cabling, or security system installation. Ability to climb ladders, work in crawl spaces/attics, and lift up to 60 lbs regularly. Valid driver's license with a clean driving record is mandatory.
