In this pivotal role, you will be the welcoming face and efficient coordinator of our busy dental practice. Your energetic approach will ensure smooth patient flow, accurate administrative support, and exceptional customer service. You will manage patient scheduling, handle insurance and billing processes, and maintain meticulous medical records—all while fostering a positive environment for both patients and staff. This position offers an exciting opportunity to utilize your clerical expertise, medical terminology knowledge, and computer skills in a fast-paced healthcare setting. Duties Greet patients warmly and professionally, creating a friendly first impression Schedule appointments efficiently using dental practice management software and EMR/EHR systems such as Epic, Meditech, or eClinicalWorks Verify patient insurance coverage, process claims, and handle medical billing with knowledge of health insurance policies including Medicare and HIPAA regulations Collect payments, perform medical collections, and manage financial transactions accurately Review and update patient medical records ensuring compliance with clinical confidentiality policies Coordinate with clinical staff to ensure accurate documentation review and care plan updates Answer multi-line phone systems with excellent phone etiquette, directing calls appropriately and providing exceptional patient service Maintain filing systems for medical records, insurance documents, and administrative files with precision Support clinic operations by managing appointment reminders, follow-up calls, and patient inquiries Utilize Microsoft Office tools for documentation, reports, and correspondence as needed Experience Proven experience in a medical or dental office setting with strong clerical and administrative skills Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems such as Epic, Meditech, Athenahealth or eClinicalWorks is highly preferred Knowledge of medical coding including CPT codes, ICD-9/10 codes for billing and documentation purposes Experience handling health insurance claims processing and understanding of health information management practices Bilingual abilities are a plus to serve diverse patient populations effectively Demonstrated ability to maintain clinical confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA standards Strong computer skills including proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and electronic health record management software Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate clearly via phone and in person Previous dental clinic experience is highly desirable but not required—training will be provided for the right candidate Join us to be part of a dedicated team committed to delivering outstanding patient care while advancing your career in healthcare administration!
