Job Description

Spanish-Speaking Front Desk Medical Receptionist Needed needed for busy cardiology practice: The ideal candidate will be someone who thrives in a teamwork environment and is committed to providing exceptional patient care to our patient population. In this role, you will support the cardiology practice by checking in patients, collecting co-pays and scheduling office visits and testing. You will also be assisting with messaging, patient call-backs and verifying insurance information for patients in addition to confirming appointments. This position is Full-Time, working 8-hour shifts Monday - Friday, rare weekends - which would be pre-planned. Shifts will typically be from 8:30am - 5pm, however start times could vary depending upon department needs. Clinic hours are from 8am - 5pm.
Preferred Qualifications:
Completion of a formal Administrative Medical Assistant Program, OR hold a Medical Assistance Certification One year of experience working in a medical office This team member is responsible for check-in, assisting with patient phone calls, and confirming appointments. This team member is responsible for scheduling patient appointments according to doctor availability, testing availability, and patient insurance. Explaining any special instructions for testing.
Key responsibilities include:
Greeting patients professionally both in person and on the phone. Checking patients in for appointments. Quickly answering or properly referring questions and issues. Optimizing provider schedules and patient satisfaction with efficient scheduling with next available appointment when authorization is not needed. Filling in any available spots ensuring, a complete schedule prior to the end of the day for next day's testing. Distributing all orders to proper destinations for example procedures, medical records, diagnostic testing, referrals, and labs, etc. Assist with confirming next day testing but verify auth prior to confirming appointments. Responding to emails in a timely manner. Rescheduling or canceling appointments when patients call in or when emailed. Notify Office Manager if next available appointment is greater than 3 weeks for any testing. Assess other appointments and reschedule as needed if an appointment is missed. Perform other duties as assigned or requested. Reaching out to existing patients who missed appointments or are lost to follow-up. Responsible for entering data into EMR, as well as maintaining the integrity and accuracy of the data. Provide support to other team members as needed
Requirements:
Fluent in Spanish Prior experience in scheduling patients Excellent customer service skills and phone etiquette
