Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Dental Receptionist & Billing/Insurance Coordinator to join our vibrant 5-star pediatric dental practice in Encino! In this multifaceted role, you will serve as the first point of contact for patients, managing front desk operations with enthusiasm and professionalism. You will also oversee billing processes, coordinate insurance claims, and ensure accurate documentation in compliance with healthcare regulations. Responsibilities Greet patients warmly upon arrival, verify appointment details, and manage patient check-in/check-out procedures using a modern dental practice management software. Schedule appointments efficiently while managing calendar updates and patient flow to maximize productivity. Collect and process payments, including copayments and outstanding balances. Coordinate insurance claims submission and follow-up with PPO dental insurances. Verify patient insurance coverage, explain benefits, and assist with pre-authorizations and eligibility inquiries in accordance with HIPAA guidelines. Maintain meticulous records, ensuring compliance with clinical confidentiality policies and proper filing of documents. Perform administrative support tasks such as data entry, phone communication, typing, filing, and maintaining office supplies to support smooth operations. Utilize computer skills to manage our dental practice management software. Assist in reviewing care plans, documenting treatment notes, and ensuring all documentation aligns with clinical standards and insurance requirements. Provide excellent patient service by addressing inquiries professionally via phone or in person while demonstrating strong phone etiquette and customer service skills. Experience Prior experience working in a dental office or healthcare setting is highly preferred Demonstrated proficiency with practice management software. Strong knowledge of dental coding, billing procedures, and dental insurance processes. Bilingual abilities are a plus to effectively serve diverse patient populations Proven clerical experience involving front desk management, dental records handling, appointment scheduling, and office support functions Familiarity with HIPAA regulations and clinical confidentiality policies to ensure compliance at all times Excellent computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel) along with typing speed (10-key typing preferred) for efficient data entry. $20.00 - $30.00 per hour Expected hours: 38.0 per week
