Job Description

Description A healthcare company is looking for a Medical Receptionist to support a non-profit residential treatment program in Los Angeles, California. This Medical Receptionist position is suited for someone who brings professionalism, sound judgment, and a compassionate approach to front-desk operations in a sensitive care setting. The Medical Receptionist will create a welcoming experience for visitors and clients while handling confidential information with discretion and maintaining respectful boundaries in daily interactions.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Welcome clients, visitors, and staff in a courteous manner and serve as the first point of contact for the facility.
  • Coordinate appointment calendars, manage patient scheduling needs, and help keep the front office running smoothly throughout the day.
  • Handle patient check-in procedures accurately, confirm basic information, and direct individuals to the appropriate staff or service area.
  • Answer incoming calls, respond to routine front-desk inquiries, and relay messages promptly and professionally.
  • Maintain organized reception and administrative records while safeguarding sensitive information in accordance with confidentiality standards.
  • Support general medical front office tasks such as filing, document preparation, and routine clerical assistance for the care team.
  • Communicate with individuals from diverse backgrounds in a calm, respectful, and nonjudgmental manner within a residential behavioral health environment.

Requirements Qualifications:
  • Previous experience in a receptionist, front desk, or medical front office role.
  • Working knowledge of patient scheduling, patient check-in, and general reception procedures.
  • Familiarity with basic medical terminology.
  • Ability to manage confidential information with discretion and maintain appropriate boundaries.
  • Strong verbal communication skills and a consistently calm, respectful demeanor.
  • Dependable attendance and the ability to handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced setting.
  • Interest in behavioral health, community health, mental health, substance use treatment, or human services is preferred.
