Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Medical Receptionist to join our plastic surgery team . In this vital role, you will serve as the first point of contact for patients, providing exceptional customer service while managing a wide range of administrative and clinical support tasks. Your energetic approach will help ensure smooth clinic operations, accurate documentation, and a welcoming environment for all visitors. The ideal candidate will possess strong computer skills, medical terminology knowledge, and experience with electronic health record (EHR) systems to facilitate efficient patient flow and data management. Must be able to communicate in Spanish and English to patients Duties Greet patients warmly and professionally, ensuring a positive first impression Schedule appointments using medical scheduling software and coordinate patient flow throughout the clinic Verify insurance coverage, process medical collections, and handle billing inquiries with accuracy Manage electronic health records (EHR systems) such as Epic, Meditech, Athenahealth, eClinicalWorks, or similar platforms Review and update patient documentation in compliance with HIPAA and clinical confidentiality policies Assist with medical coding including CPT (Current Procedural Terminology), ICD-9/10 (International Classification of Diseases), ICD coding, and Medicare documentation requirements Handle phone communication with patients, providers, and insurance companies using proper phone etiquette and professionalism Maintain accurate medical records, file documents systematically, and perform data entry tasks including 10 key typing Support clinical staff by reviewing care plans and ensuring proper documentation review and compliance with health information management standards Perform clerical duties such as filing, faxing, scanning documents, and managing office supplies in a fast-paced environment Experience Prior clinic or healthcare office experience is required, ideally within a medical or dental setting Demonstrated proficiency with EMR/EHR systems such as Epic, Meditech, Athenahealth or similar platforms Strong knowledge of medical billing, medical coding (CPT, ICD-9/10), and health insurance processes including Medicare procedures Experience with medical collection processes and health information management practices Bilingual abilities are highly desirable to serve diverse patient populations effectively Familiarity with HIPAA regulations, clinical confidentiality policies, and health insurance terminology is essential Excellent customer service skills combined with strong organizational abilities in office management tasks Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel) along with basic computer skills for documentation review and administrative support Join us to make a meaningful difference in patient care by providing outstanding administrative support in a vibrant healthcare environment. Pay:
$25.18 - $30.32 per hour
