Job Overview Join our dynamic healthcare team as a Dental Receptionist / Front Desk professional, where your energetic and welcoming attitude will set the tone for an exceptional patient experience. In this vital role, you will serve as the first point of contact for patients, managing appointments, handling medical and dental administrative tasks, and ensuring smooth clinic operations. Duties Greet patients warmly, verify their appointment details, and check in efficiently using Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems such as Epic, Meditech, or eClinicalWorks Schedule appointments accurately, coordinate patient flow, and manage cancellations or rescheduling requests via dental office management software Collect and process payments, including medical collections and insurance co-pays, ensuring adherence to HIPAA and health information confidentiality policies Review and update patient records, ensuring all documentation complies with clinical confidentiality policies and is accurately entered into electronic health records (EHR) systems Handle phone communication professionally, providing excellent customer service while answering inquiries about appointments, insurance coverage, or billing issues Assist with medical billing and coding tasks using CPT coding, ICD-9/10 codes, Medicare guidelines, and health insurance knowledge to ensure accurate claims submission Maintain organized filing of medical records and perform routine administrative support such as data entry, typing (including 10 key typing), and document review Skills Proven experience in a dental clinic or medical office environment with strong front desk and administrative support skills Proficiency in EMR/EHR systems such as Epic, Meditech, Athenahealth or similar platforms; familiarity with electronic health records management is essential Knowledge of medical terminology, clinical confidentiality policies, and health information management standards including HIPAA compliance Ability to perform medical coding (ICD-10/ICD-9), CPT coding, and medical billing accurately; experience with Medicare claims processing is a plus Excellent customer service skills with strong phone etiquette and professional communication abilities Bilingual capabilities are highly desirable to serve diverse patient populations effectively Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office suite for documentation review and administrative tasks Clinic experience in a healthcare setting involving medical scheduling, filing, and office management responsibilities Join us in creating a welcoming environment where patients feel cared for from the moment they walk through the door. $22.00 - $28.00 per hour Expected hours: 32.0 - 36.0 per week
