Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and organized Dental Front Desk Receptionist/Coordinator to serve as the first point of contact for our patients. This role involves managing patient interactions, scheduling appointments, handling insurance and billing processes, treatment planning, and supporting clinical staff with administrative tasks. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills, strong computer proficiency, and experience in dental office operations. Duties Greet patients warmly and professionally, ensuring a positive first impression. Schedule appointments efficiently using dental practice management software. Verify patient insurance coverage, process claims, and manage billing using health insurance knowledge such as Medicare and HIPAA compliance. Collect payments, perform dentak collections, and handle financial transactions accurately. Maintain accurate and organized medical records and documentation review to ensure compliance with clinical confidentiality policies. Assist with patient intake procedures, including updating electronic health records. Coordinate with clinical staff regarding care plans and treatment schedules while managing phone communication with patients professionally. Support front desk operations by managing filing, 10 key typing, and other clerical tasks to ensure smooth office workflow. Qualifications Prior experience in a dental clinic is a must. Strong knowledge of dental billing, coding (CPT, ICD-9/10). Proficiency with Dentrix. Excellent customer service skills combined with effective phone etiquette and communication abilities. Bilingual abilities are a plus to serve diverse patient populations effectively. Demonstrated clerical experience including filing, typing (including 10 key), and medical records management. Familiarity with HIPAA regulations and clinical confidentiality policies is essential. Strong computer skills.
