Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and professional Dental Front Desk Receptionist to serve as the first point of contact for our dental practice. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills, a welcoming demeanor, and strong organizational abilities. In this role, you will manage patient interactions, coordinate appointments, handle administrative tasks, and ensure smooth clinic operations while maintaining strict adherence to confidentiality and healthcare regulations. Your expertise in medical administrative support and familiarity with electronic health record systems will be essential to providing exceptional patient service and supporting the clinical team effectively. Responsibilities Greet patients warmly, verify insurance information, and assist with appointment scheduling using dental practice management software. Manage patient check-in and check-out processes efficiently, ensuring accuracy in documentation review and data entry. Handle phone inquiries professionally, providing information on services, appointment availability, and insurance coverage while practicing proper phone etiquette. Maintain accurate and organized medical records within electronic health records (EHR) systems such as Epic, Meditech, or eClinicalWorks. Process payments, perform medical billing including CPT coding, ICD-9/10 coding, and Medicare claims to ensure timely collections. Coordinate with clinical staff to facilitate care plans and follow-up appointments while adhering to HIPAA and clinical confidentiality policies. Support office operations by managing supplies inventory, maintaining cleanliness of the reception area, and performing clerical duties such as typing reports and updating patient files using Microsoft Office tools. Experience Prior experience working in a dental clinic or healthcare setting is highly preferred. Demonstrated proficiency with EMR/EHR systems such as Epic, Meditech, Athenahealth, or similar platforms. Strong knowledge of medical billing procedures including Medicare claims processing and medical coding (CPT, ICD-9/10). Familiarity with health insurance policies, health information management practices, and HIPAA compliance standards. Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively in bilingual settings is a plus. Proven clerical experience supporting medical office management functions such as appointment scheduling, documentation review, and medical records management. Competency in computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite, 10-key typing, and electronic health record management tools.
