Job Description

Our office is looking for a medical receptionist. The candidate should have experience as a medical receptionist. This is a 32-40 hour position, which requires an energetic, organized individual who thrives in a fast-paced environment.
Primary Functions:
  • Answering phones and scheduling appointments
  • Documenting all patient-related communication and interventions in the patient's electronic medical record (EMR) (ATHENA)
  • Supports patient care delivery by helping health care providers authorizing drug refills as directed; telephoning prescriptions to pharmacies
  • Processes incoming medical records to appropriate staff
  • Updating patient demographics/insurances
  • Always maintains HIPPA
  • Scan documents into

Education/Qualifications:
  • High School graduate or GED equivalent is required.
  • 1 year of experience as a medical receptionist is preferred.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology and standards of care
  • Knowledge of computerized information services (EMR) used in clinical management setting preferred
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong commitment to customer service and excellence in healthcare
  • Flexibility of scheduled hours
