In this vital role, you will be the first point of contact, managing patient interactions with enthusiasm and professionalism. Your expertise in medical administrative support and office management will ensure smooth clinic operations, from scheduling appointments to verifying insurance coverage. Responsibilities Greet patients warmly and handle all front desk duties with enthusiasm, including answering multi-line phone systems and managing patient check-in/check-out processes. Schedule appointments efficiently using electronic health record (EHR) systems such as Epic, Dentrix, Eaglesoft, or Meditech, ensuring optimal clinic flow. Verify insurance coverage and benefits by performing insurance verification and understanding health insurance policies like Medicare and HIPAA compliance standards. Collect payments and perform medical billing tasks, including coding procedures with
CPT, ICD-9, ICD-10
codes, and managing medical collections accurately. Maintain meticulous medical records and review documentation for completeness and accuracy while adhering to clinical confidentiality policies. Assist with patient intake processes, including updating medical history and ensuring all necessary documentation is complete for each visit. Support clinical staff by managing appointment reminders, follow-up scheduling, and coordinating care plans as needed. Requirements Proven experience in a medical or dental office setting with strong clinic experience and familiarity with electronic health records (EHR) systems such as Epic, Meditech, eClinicalWorks, or Dentrix. Excellent computer skills including proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel) and typing skills (10 key typing). Knowledge of dental terminology, medical terminology, health information management, and office management best practices. Strong understanding of health insurance processes including insurance verification, medical billing, coding (CPT, ICD), and familiarity with Medicare regulations. Exceptional customer service skills with professional phone etiquette and effective communication abilities in a bilingual environment preferred. Ability to handle multiple priorities efficiently while maintaining attention to detail in documentation review and filing tasks. Knowledge of clinical confidentiality policies such as HIPAA is essential to protect patient privacy at all times. Previous experience working with dental clinic software like Eaglesoft or Dentrix is highly desirable.
