Full Job Description Medical Receptionist Duties:
  • Greet patients and visitors in a professional and friendly manner
  • Answer phone calls and direct them to the appropriate department or individual
  • Schedule appointments and manage the appointment calendar
  • Verify patient insurance information and collect necessary co-pays or fees
  • Maintain patient records and update any changes in personal information
  • Assist with patient check-in and check-out processes
  • Handle incoming and outgoing mail, faxes, and emails
  • Ensure the waiting area is clean and organized
Qualifications:
  • Previous experience working as a medical receptionist is preferred
  • Knowledge of medical terminology and procedures is a plus
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Proficient in using phone systems and basic computer applications
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry
  • Ability to maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations
