Position Overview We are looking for a motivated, friendly, and highly organized Dental Receptionist to become an important part of our positive and welcoming dental team. As one of the first people our patients interact with, you will play a key role in creating a warm, professional, and comfortable experience from the moment they contact or enter our office. This position involves coordinating patient appointments, assisting with day-to-day dental administrative responsibilities, and helping ensure the practice runs efficiently and smoothly. The ideal candidate is an excellent communicator, pays close attention to detail, stays organized in a busy environment, and genuinely enjoys delivering exceptional patient service. Schedule & Compensation Full Time Flexible schedule available (hours can be adjusted based on office needs and candidate availability) Pay range: Starting at $18 per hour , based on experience Responsibilities Welcome and assist patients in a friendly, professional, and courteous manner while creating a positive experience from the moment they enter the office Coordinate, schedule, confirm, and maintain patient appointments using Dentrix, our dental practice management software Collect and accurately process patient payments, co-pays, outstanding balances, and other account-related transactions Maintain complete, accurate, and current patient records while ensuring all documentation is handled in accordance with HIPAA and patient privacy requirements Communicate professionally with patients, insurance representatives, vendors, and other healthcare professionals by phone, email, and in person Manage electronic patient records, including accurate data entry, document filing, updates, and retrieval of patient information Assist with patient questions about insurance claims, billing procedures, coding, collections, and other dental billing responsibilities as needed Aid in explaining to patients dental insurance eligibility and coverage, review patient benefits, and assist patients with insurance-related questions using applicable practice and insurance systems. Support the clinical team by preparing patient charts, updating treatment and care information, and ensuring necessary records are organized and readily available Help maintain an efficient front office by completing administrative and clerical duties, including filing, typing, data entry, document management, and other daily office tasks Skills & Qualifications Previous experience working in a dental, medical, or other healthcare office environment is strongly preferred Experience with dental practice management software and/or electronic medical or health record systems: Advantage if well trained in Dentrix. Understanding of dental insurance processes, patient benefits, billing, HIPAA compliance, and proper management of confidential health information Exceptional customer service and interpersonal skills with a friendly, patient-focused approach Ability to handle confidential and sensitive patient information with professionalism and discretion Experience with front desk responsibilities, including appointment scheduling, answering phones, patient communication, filing, and general office management Strong attention to detail with an emphasis on accurate documentation, patient information, and record management Excellent organizational and time-management skills with the ability to prioritize responsibilities effectively Ability to multitask and remain organized in a busy, fast-paced dental environment while maintaining a professional and positive attitude A dependable team player who is willing to assist wherever needed to help provide an exceptional experience for both patients and team members To apply: Please submit your resume and a brief cover letter highlighting your dental insurance experience.
