Role:
The Bilingual creole Medical Receptionist serves as the first point of contact for patients and visitors in a healthcare setting, playing a crucial role in creating a welcoming and efficient environment. This position is responsible for managing patient appointments, handling inquiries, and ensuring accurate and confidential processing of patient information. The Medical Receptionist coordinates communication between patients, medical staff, and administrative personnel to facilitate smooth clinic operations. By maintaining organized records and managing front desk activities, this role supports the overall delivery of quality patient care. Ultimately, the Medical Receptionist contributes to a positive patient experience and the effective functioning of the medical office.
Minimum Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent. Previous experience in a medical office or healthcare environment preferred. Basic proficiency with computer systems and electronic health record (EHR) software. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to handle sensitive patient information with confidentiality and professionalism.
Preferred Qualifications:
Certification as a Medical Receptionist or Medical Administrative Assistant. Experience with specific EHR platforms such as Epic, Cerner, or Meditech. Knowledge of medical terminology and insurance billing processes. Bilingual abilities, especially in Spanish or other commonly spoken languages in the United States. Customer service experience in a healthcare or related setting.
Responsibilities:
Greet and check in patients upon arrival, verifying personal and insurance information accurately. Schedule, reschedule, and confirm patient appointments using electronic health record (EHR) systems. Answer incoming phone calls, respond to patient inquiries, and direct calls to appropriate medical staff. Maintain patient records and ensure confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA regulations. Collect co-payments and process billing information as required. Coordinate with medical staff to manage patient flow and update appointment statuses. Prepare and distribute patient forms and informational materials. Assist with administrative tasks such as filing, faxing, and managing correspondence.
