Job Description
Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and organized Medical Receptionist to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing the front desk operations of our medical office, ensuring a smooth and efficient patient experience. This role requires excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and familiarity with medical office management practices. The Medical Receptionist will play a crucial role in maintaining patient records, verifying insurance information, and collecting payments. Responsibilities Greet patients and visitors warmly as they arrive at the office. Manage appointment scheduling and confirm patient visits. Perform insurance verification and ensure proper documentation is collected from patients. Collect co-pays and patient balances. Reconcile cash/check payment receipts generated from the EHR with cash on hand at the end of each shift. Maintain accurate medical records in compliance with HIPAA regulations. Handle incoming calls, respond to inquiries, and direct calls to appropriate staff members. Process patient check-ins and check-outs efficiently while addressing any concerns or questions. Support the administrative team with clerical tasks as needed, including scanning, filing, sorting faxes and data entry. Participate in team meetings and take initiatives to improve processes. Skills Proficiency in using Electronic Medical Records. Knowledge of medical records management and HIPAA compliance is essential. Experience with insurance verification processes is essential. Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment. Excellent verbal and written communication skills to interact professionally with patients and staff.
