The Medical Receptionist will play a crucial role in enhancing patient experience and supporting clinical staff. Traveling required Responsibilities Greet patients and visitors warmly, providing excellent customer service at all times. Manage multi-line phone systems to schedule appointments, handle inquiries, and direct calls appropriately. Maintain accurate patient records and ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations. Perform insurance verification and assist with medical billing processes. Utilize Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems such as Epic, Meditech, Athenahealth, or eClinicalWorks for documentation and scheduling. Review care plans and assist with documentation review to ensure accuracy in patient information. Process medical collections and manage billing inquiries effectively. Assist in clerical duties including filing, typing, and maintaining office organization. Collaborate with clinical staff to ensure efficient patient flow and support overall office management. Stay updated on medical terminology, CPT coding, ICD-9, and ICD-10 coding practices. Qualifications Previous experience as a Medical Receptionist or in a similar medical administrative support role is preferred. Strong understanding of medical terminology, HIPAA regulations, insurance verification processes, and medical billing/coding practices (ICD coding). Bilingual candidates are encouraged to apply to enhance communication with diverse patient populations. Excellent computer skills including proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and typing skills (10 key typing is a plus).
