About Us Axion Dental is a family-oriented practice in Mokena hiring a warm, confident Front Desk Receptionist to join our team. We value excellent patient care, strong communication, and a schedule that allows our team to do quality work without feeling rushed. Job Summary Axion Dental is looking for a friendly, detail-oriented Front Desk Receptionist to be the first point of contact for our patients. This role goes beyond scheduling, you'll own insurance verification, claims, and patient financial communication, helping keep our schedule full and our revenue cycle running smoothly. Compensation & Benefits $18-$23/hour, based on experience Health Insurance Dental Benefits PTO Paid Holidays 401k Schedule Full-time, Monday-Friday Responsibilities Greet patients and manage a smooth check-in / check-out process Answer phones and schedule/confirm appointments to keep the hygiene and doctor schedules full Verify dental insurance eligibility and benefits ahead of each appointment Submit and follow up on insurance claims; work the insurance aging report to resolve outstanding claims Post insurance payments and EOBs accurately Handle pre-authorizations and communicate coverage details to patients before treatment Present and clearly explain treatment costs and patient financial responsibility Collect patient payments and manage outstanding balances Maintain accurate patient records in Dentrix Ascend Coordinate handoffs between clinical team and front desk (route slips) on treatment planned during visits Requirements 3+ years of dental or medical front desk experience preferred Hands-on experience with dental insurance verification, claims submission, and EOBs strongly preferred Familiarity with Dentrix Ascend is preferred but not required Strong communication and multitasking skills Positive, team-first attitude
Pay:
$18.00 - $23.00 per hour
