Job Description
Overview As a Medical Receptionist, you will be responsible for providing excellent customer service and administrative support in a medical office setting. Your role will be crucial in ensuring smooth operations and positive patient experiences. Responsibilities Greet patients in a friendly and professional manner Schedule and confirm appointments using medical scheduling systems Collect patient information, including medical history and insurance details Maintain patient records and ensure accuracy and confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA regulations Answer phone calls, respond to inquiries, and direct calls to the appropriate staff members Assist with medical administrative tasks such as faxing, and scanning documents Coordinate referrals to other healthcare providers as needed Process payments and provide billing support Qualifications Proven experience within healthcare settings or medical offices Knowledge of managed care principles, health insurance policies, and third-party billing procedures Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR) management systems and medical terminology Strong phone communication skills coupled with excellent writing abilities for client correspondence Ability to manage schedules effectively while maintaining flexibility for urgent adjustments
