Job Description
Overview We are seeking a dedicated and organized Medical Receptionist to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will be the first point of contact for patients, providing exceptional customer service while managing administrative tasks in a fast-paced medical office environment. This role requires a strong understanding of medical terminology, excellent clerical skills, and adherence to HIPAA regulations to ensure patient confidentiality and compliance. Responsibilities Greet patients and visitors in a friendly and professional manner. Schedule appointments and manage the clinic's calendar efficiently. Verify patient information and insurance details upon arrival. Maintain accurate patient records in compliance with HIPAA regulations. Handle incoming calls, respond to inquiries, and provide information about services offered. Process patient payments and manage billing inquiries. Assist with medical coding as needed to ensure proper documentation. Collaborate with healthcare providers to facilitate smooth patient flow within the clinic. Perform general clerical duties, including scheduling, data entry, and billing. Skills Proficient knowledge of medical terminology and administrative procedures in a medical office setting. Familiarity with Athena or similar practice management software is preferred. Understanding of HIPAA regulations to ensure patient confidentiality. Strong clerical skills with attention to detail for accurate record keeping. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, for effective interaction with patients and staff. Ability to multitask and prioritize effectively in a busy clinic environment. Experience in medical coding is a plus but not required; willingness to learn is essential. Previous experience in a Medical office or clinic setting is advantageous.
