Job Description
Indiana Retina Center is a fast growing three physician group specializing in medical and surgical treatments of retinal diseases. We are looking for a focused and experienced medical receptionist with experience with insurance verification and billing. Must be a great team player, positive attitude, ability to multi-task, fast learner, and attention to detail. Main focus of the work will be
- Greet and check-in patients, ensuring a friendly and professional atmosphere
- Schedule appointments and manage the office calendar
- Answer phone calls and respond to inquiries or direct calls to the appropriate staff member
- Collect and update patient information, including medical history and insurance details
- Verify insurance coverage and process necessary paperwork. This person will work directly with billing to ensure proper insurance information is gathered and entered.
- Maintain patient confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA regulations
- Provide administrative support to medical staff, including filing, faxing, and organizing documents
- Assist with billing and patient assistance programs. Prior authorizations.
- Utilize Nextech or similar software to manage patient records and appointments
- Ensure the front desk area is clean, organized, and presentable at all times
- May require travel to satellite office couple of days a month.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in a medical receptionist or administrative role preferred
- Knowledge of medical terminology and procedures is a plus
- Familiarity with practice management software is highly desired
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to handle difficult situations professionally
- Proficient in using phone systems and other office equipment
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills
- Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively
Requirements:
Education :
Minimum High School Diploma, or equivalent. College degree preferred. Must be familiar with most insurances accepted in Indiana. $17.00- $20.
