Position Overview:
Just Kids Dental is seeking a friendly, dependable, and organized Front Desk Receptionist to join our team. Our Front Desk team plays an important role in creating a positive experience for patients and their families from the moment they arrive until the completion of their visit. This position is responsible for greeting and checking patients in and out, maintaining accurate patient information, scheduling appointments, answering phones, collecting patient payments, and helping maintain an efficient flow throughout the office. The ideal candidate communicates well with both children and adults, is comfortable handling multiple responsibilities at once, pays close attention to detail, and understands the importance of providing excellent customer service in a busy healthcare environment.
Responsibilities:
Greet and welcome patients and their families in a friendly, professional, and compassionate manner. Check patients in and out while ensuring patient demographics, forms, and other required information are complete and accurate. Schedule, confirm, reschedule, and manage patient appointments in accordance with office scheduling guidelines. Answer incoming telephone calls and assist callers or direct them to the appropriate team member. Communicate clearly and professionally with patients, parents, caregivers, and other healthcare professionals. Verify insurance eligibility and benefits and assist with routine insurance-related questions. Collect patient balances, copayments, and other amounts due and accurately process payments. Maintain accurate patient records and properly document communications and account information. Assist with obtaining and organizing patient forms, records, referrals, and other documentation as needed. Monitor the patient schedule and communicate with the clinical team to help maintain an efficient patient flow throughout the day. Assist patients and caregivers with scheduling follow-up care before leaving the office. Maintain patient confidentiality and handle protected health information in accordance with applicable privacy requirements and office policies. Maintain a clean, organized, and professional front desk and reception area. Assist with administrative tasks, patient communication, data entry, scanning, and other office responsibilities as needed. Scheduling:
This is a full-time position, Monday - Friday from 7:50 AM - 4:00 PM.
Required Qualifications:
Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Excellent customer service skills and a professional, welcoming demeanor. Exceptional attention to detail and organizational abilities. Comfort communicating with children, parents, and caregivers. Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-paced environment. Ability to work effectively as part of a team. Dependability, professionalism, and a positive attitude. Basic computer proficiency and comfort working with Microsoft Office 365. Commitment to compassionate patient care and maintaining patient confidentiality.
Preferred Qualifications:
1+ year of experience in a dental, medical, or other healthcare office setting. Previous dental front desk or scheduling experience. Basic knowledge of dental insurance eligibility, benefits, and terminology. Experience using dental or medical practice management software. Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish. Current BLS/CPR certification or willingness to obtain certification.
