Job Description
The first few minutes of a healthcare visit shape how supported a patient feels. We are adding a Medical Receptionist to our New Orleans practice to welcome patients, organize appointments and keep the front desk running calmly throughout the day. This is a full-time, onsite position for someone who communicates clearly, notices the details and wants to build practical healthcare administration experience. Previous medical office experience is helpful, but it is not required. Training on practice procedures, patient privacy and internal systems will be provided. What you will manage Welcome patients, confirm appointment details and direct them to the correct member of the clinical team. Answer calls, respond to routine questions and take accurate messages when further support is needed. Schedule, confirm and adjust appointments while keeping calendars current. Update patient contact details and enter information carefully into the practice system. Prepare front-desk paperwork and help maintain organized electronic and physical records. Collect required forms and follow established privacy and confidentiality procedures. Work with the wider team to reduce delays and keep patients informed when schedules change. What will help you succeed A professional and reassuring communication style in person and over the phone. Reliable attendance and availability for the stated weekday schedule. Comfort using email, calendars and basic office software. The ability to protect confidential information and check work for accuracy. A high school diploma or equivalent. Pay development and benefits The Medical Receptionist position pays $20.00-$23.00 per hour, depending on relevant experience. Benefits include paid training, paid time off, company-paid holidays and eligibility for health, dental and vision coverage. Performance and development will be reviewed after the first six months. You will have clear support during your first weeks, beginning with front-desk systems and appointment procedures before taking on a full daily workload.
