This position serves as the first point of contact for patients and plays an important role in ensuring smooth daily office operations. The ideal candidate is organized, friendly, detail-oriented, and comfortable working in a fast-paced medical environment. The candidate must be comfortable managing multiple phone lines, checking patients in and out, scheduling appointments, and using electronic medical record (EMR) systems. Key Responsibilities Front Desk & Patient Services
  • Greet patients and visitors in a professional, friendly, and welcoming manner.
  • Check patients in and out efficiently and accurately.
  • Verify and update patient demographic, insurance, and contact information.
  • Collect copayments, deductibles, and other applicable patient balances.
  • Provide patients with appropriate forms, paperwork, and office information.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and professional reception area.
  • Assist patients with general questions and direct clinical questions to the appropriate staff. Telephone & Communication
  • Answer and manage multiple incoming phone lines in a professional and timely manner.
  • Route calls to the appropriate department, provider, or staff member.
  • Take accurate messages and ensure timely follow-up.
  • Schedule, reschedule, and cancel appointments according to office procedures.
  • Respond to patient inquiries while maintaining patient confidentiality and HIPAA compliance.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, providers, pharmacies, insurance companies, and other healthcare professionals as appropriate. Electronic Medical Records (EMR)
  • Utilize the electronic medical record system to check patients in and out, schedule appointments, update demographics, and document administrative information.
  • Ensure patient information is entered accurately and maintained appropriately.
  • Navigate the EMR efficiently to locate patient information and support office workflows.
  • Follow established EMR procedures and maintain patient confidentiality.
  • Assist with identifying and resolving basic EMR-related issues and escalate technical concerns when necessary. Scheduling & Office Support
  • Schedule appointments based on provider availability and established scheduling guidelines.
  • Monitor appointment schedules and communicate scheduling changes to appropriate staff.
  • Assist with referrals, authorizations, medical records requests, and other administrative tasks as assigned.
  • Coordinate with clinical staff to ensure efficient patient flow.
  • Assist with daily opening and closing procedures.
  • Perform other administrative duties as needed to support the practice. Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Previous medical office, healthcare, or customer service experience preferred.
  • Experience working with electronic medical records (EMR/EHR) preferred.
  • Experience managing multiple telephone lines in a busy environment.
  • Strong computer and typing skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to maintain patient confidentiality and follow HIPAA requirements.
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize responsibilities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Professional, friendly, and patient-focused demeanor.

Pay:
$18.00
