Qualifications:
Small podiatry office looking for a part time receptionist to work two days per week. 2 days per week, approximately 15-20 hours. Work hours start at 8:30 am and conclude at completion of tasks (typically at 6:00- 6:30 pm). Entry level applicants are welcome to apply . We are willing to train an individual displaying the qualities listed below in addition to the desire and ability to learn the listed tasks. ____________________________________________________________________________________________
Job Overview:
One of the first interactions a patient has with our office will be with the Receptionist. The Receptionist is expected to welcome patients in a friendly and professional manner both in-person and on the telephone. The Receptionist works closely with the Medical Assistant to ensure patients' appointments are started and completed in a timely manner.
Responsibilities and Duties:
Including but not limited to the following: Check-in/ Check-out. Confirming a patient's identity and indicating in the office software the status of their appointment Collecting money due and recording the payment to the patient's chart Accurately updating patients' charts with necessary information (Contact information, Primary Care Physician, Pharmacy, Insurance, etc.) Scanning and faxing documents Maintaining confidentiality of all patient data Receiving calls/ messages and routing them to the appropriate team member Responding to patient inquiries in an accurate and timely manner Tracking patient referrals and informing patients when a referral is needed Maintaining a clean and orderly office and work environment (refilling supplies; emptying trash; vacuuming, cleaning desk, etc) Scheduling appointments Maintaining and displaying a pleasant attitude to both patients and other staff. Acting as a "team player." Preparing a daily patient summary, as you are working, to be submitted at the end of day Helping other staff, as necessary Displaying a professional and friendly demeanor on the telephone and in person Displaying accuracy and attention to detail in all work

Highschool Diploma or Equivalent Experience:
Medical background and terminology are helpful but not required Specific skills: Basic to Intermediate Computer Skills Personal characteristics: Able to communicate with patients and other staff in a friendly and accurate manner Physical abilities: This is a mainly sedentary position. Must have the ability to lift up to 20lbs on occasion, to stoop or crouch, reach, use hand dexterity for keyboard typing, use visual and auditory senses to obtain data from patients or from documents
