About Us Sleep Services of Maryland is a growing multi-location sleep medicine practice dedicated to improving patients' lives through the diagnosis and treatment of sleep disorders. We are looking for a friendly, organized, and customer-focused Medical Receptionist to join our team and serve as the first point of contact for our patients. Position Summary The Medical Receptionist plays a vital role in creating a positive patient experience by providing exceptional customer service, efficiently managing front desk operations, and ensuring the smooth flow of daily office activities. The ideal candidate is compassionate, detail-oriented, and thrives in a fast-paced healthcare environment. Responsibilities Greet patients and visitors in a professional and welcoming manner. Check patients in and out while verifying demographics, insurance, and contact information. Answer and direct incoming phone calls promptly and courteously. Schedule, reschedule, and confirm patient appointments. Collect copays, deductibles, and outstanding balances while accurately posting payments in the practice management system. Scan and upload patient documents into the electronic medical record (Practice Fusion). Prepare patient charts and ensure all required forms are completed before appointments. Coordinate with providers, DME staff, and the billing department to support patient care. Maintain patient confidentiality and comply with HIPAA regulations. Keep the reception area clean, organized, and professional. Assist with additional administrative duties as assigned. Qualifications Previous experience as a Medical Receptionist in a medical office preferred. Experience with electronic medical records (EMR); Practice Fusion experience is a plus. Excellent customer service and interpersonal communication skills. Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail. Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment. Basic computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office and Google Workspace. Experience obtaining referrals is preferred.
