Job description: Medical Front Desk Receptionist We are seeking a professional, experienced, and dependable Medical Front Desk Receptionist to join our busy Pediatric & Internal Medicine practice. The ideal candidate will have strong medical front-office experience and be confident managing patient check-in and check-out, appointment scheduling, insurance verification, phone calls, and other essential front-desk responsibilities. As the first point of contact for our patients and families , this position plays an important role in creating a welcoming, professional, and efficient patient experience. We are looking for someone who is organized, detail-oriented, compassionate, and able to work effectively in a fast-paced medical office. Minimum Requirements Minimum 2 years of medical front-office/reception experience in a clinical setting — required Hands-on experience with patient check-in and check-out — required Experience working in a busy medical practice Strong computer and EHR skills Excellent communication and customer service skills Ability to multitask while maintaining accuracy and professionalism Key Responsibilities Welcome patients and families in a friendly, courteous, and professional manner Efficiently manage patient check-in and check-out Schedule, reschedule, and coordinate patient appointments using the EHR and Phreesia Answer and manage incoming phone calls and respond to patient questions appropriately Communicate effectively with patients, providers, clinical staff, and insurance companies Verify patient demographics, insurance eligibility, and benefits Obtain and process prior authorizations for diagnostic testing and procedures as needed Collect copays, deductibles, and outstanding patient balances Review and accurately update patient information in the EHR Maintain accurate and complete patient records in accordance with HIPAA and privacy requirements Perform front-office administrative duties including scanning, faxing, filing, data entry, and document management Assist with referrals, medical records, and other administrative tasks as needed Maintain an organized, clean, and efficient front-desk area Help ensure smooth patient flow and efficient daily office operations Work collaboratively with physicians, medical assistants, and other members of the healthcare team Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent required Minimum 2 years of medical receptionist/front-office experience required Medical administrative certification is a plus Experience with EHR systems and Phreesia preferred Knowledge of medical terminology and basic understanding of ICD-10 coding Experience with insurance verification, eligibility, and prior authorizations Strong organizational and time-management skills Excellent verbal and written communication skills Professional, friendly, and patient-focused demeanor Strong attention to detail and accuracy Ability to prioritize tasks and multitask in a fast-paced environment Dependable, punctual, and reliable Ability to maintain patient confidentiality and HIPAA compliance Positive attitude and strong team-player mentality What We're Looking For We are looking for someone who takes pride in providing excellent patient service and understands the importance of a professional and welcoming front desk.
