The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing exceptional administrative support in a medical office environment. This role requires strong organizational skills, the ability to communicate effectively with patients and staff, and a solid understanding of medical terminology and procedures. Proficiency in Spanish is a plus, allowing for better communication with a diverse patient population. Responsibilities Greet patients and visitors warmly, ensuring a positive first impression. Manage patient scheduling, including appointments, follow-ups, and cancellations. Maintain accurate patient records and documentation in compliance with HIPAA regulations. Review care plans and assist in the documentation of patient information. Perform medical coding using ICD-9 and ICD-10 systems for billing purposes. Provide medical administrative support by answering phone calls, responding to inquiries, and directing calls appropriately. Assist with the preparation of medical charts and ensure all necessary documentation is complete prior to patient visits. Collaborate with healthcare providers to ensure seamless patient care and communication. Experience Previous experience in a medical office or healthcare setting is preferred. Familiarity with medical administrative tasks such as scheduling, documentation review, and coding is essential. Knowledge of ICD-9 and ICD-10 coding systems is highly desirable. Strong understanding of HIPAA regulations to maintain patient confidentiality. Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail in managing multiple tasks simultaneously. Strong interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with patients, families, and healthcare professionals.
