Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Medical Receptionist to join our healthcare team. In this vital role, you will serve as the first point of contact for patients and visitors, ensuring a welcoming and efficient front desk experience. Your responsibilities will include managing patient appointments, handling medical records, verifying insurance information, and providing exceptional customer service. The ideal candidate will possess strong organizational skills, proficiency with electronic health record (EHR) systems, and a passion for supporting patient care. Responsibilities Greet patients and visitors warmly, ensuring a positive first impression while managing check-in and check-out procedures. Schedule patient appointments accurately using Cerner EMR (Electronic Medical Records). Verify insurance coverage, process medical collections, and assist with billing inquiries in compliance with HIPAA regulations. Maintain and update patient records by reviewing documentation for accuracy and completeness. Handle phone communication professionally, answering inquiries about appointments, directions, or general clinic information with clarity and courtesy. Manage medical office administrative tasks including filing, data entry, and maintaining medical records in accordance with health information management policies. Support clinical staff by reviewing care plans, assisting with documentation review, and ensuring proper coding using CPT (Current Procedural Terminology), ICD-9/10 (International Classification of Diseases), and ICD coding standards. Demonstrate proficiency in office software such as Microsoft Office suite to prepare reports and correspondence efficiently. Uphold clinical confidentiality policies while managing sensitive patient information securely in compliance with HIPAA standards. Assist in clinic operations by coordinating medical scheduling and handling intake procedures for new or returning patients. Skills Proven experience in medical office management or healthcare administrative support within a clinical setting. Strong knowledge of EMR/EHR systems including Epic, Meditech, Athenahealth, or eClinicalWorks. Familiarity with medical billing processes, medical coding (CPT, ICD-9/10), and health insurance procedures such as Medicare claims processing. Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively via phone and in person while maintaining professional etiquette. Demonstrated clerical skills including filing, 10-key typing, data entry, and documentation review. Ability to handle multiple priorities efficiently while maintaining attention to detail in a fast-paced environment. Knowledge of clinical confidentiality policies and health information management standards. Pay:
$17.00 - $20.00 per hour
