Job Summary We are seeking a medical billing specialist to process healthcare claims to ensure accurate billing and timely reimbursement from insurance companies and other payers.
Responsibilities:
Claims Processing — They prepare and submit claims to insurance companies for reimbursement, ensuring accuracy and compliance with regulations. Patient Interaction — Specialists often handle patient inquiries regarding billing questions and payment options, providing support and clarity. Insurance Verification — They verify patient insurance coverage and eligibility before services are rendered, which helps prevent billing issues later. Coding Knowledge — A deep understanding of medical coding is essential, as they must translate medical procedures into codes for billing purposes. Follow-Up — They follow up on unpaid claims and resolve any discrepancies with insurance companies to ensure timely payments Patient Check-In and Check-Out — Medical receptionists manage the check-in and check-out processes for patients, ensuring accurate record-keeping. Appointment Scheduling — They are responsible for scheduling and confirming appointments, which is crucial for maintaining the clinic's workflow. Insurance Verification — Medical receptionists verify patients' insurance eligibility, helping to streamline billing processes. Payment Collection — They handle payment collection from patients, ensuring that financial transactions are processed correctly. Communication Management — Receptionists triage messages and inquiries, directing them to the appropriate clinical or billing team members
Pay:
$20.00 - $25.00 per hour Expected hours: 20.0 - 35.0 per week
