As a Medical Secretary, you will be responsible for greeting patients who come in the door, checking them in, and pulling relevant patient files or obtaining new patient information. You will verify insurance information and enter data, answer phone calls and direct them to the appropriate department, mail or fax documentation to the appropriate offices, and maintain excellent medical and correspondence records, as appropriate. The ideal candidate is very organized, has strong customer service and interpersonal skills, and works well independently and within a team. Knowledge of Athena EMR System will be helpful. Responsibilities Greet patients who walk through the door Access their needs and get them checked in Verify Insurance information, confirm eligibility Answer the phone and schedule appointments or answer patient questions Referrals and other duties as assigned Qualifications Strong customer service skills Excellent organizational skills Attention to detail Familiarity with basic computer programs, such as the Microsoft Office suite Previous office experience desired
