As the first point of contact for our patients, you'll play a vital role in creating a welcoming experience while helping our busy orthopedic practice operate efficiently. What You'll Do As a Medical Receptionist, you'll help deliver an outstanding patient experience by: Patient Check-In Welcome patients with professionalism, warmth, and compassion Register patients and verify demographic, insurance, and billing information Collect co-pays and ensure all required documentation has been received Communicate expected wait times and answer general patient questions Notify providers of appointment cancellations and no-shows Direct patients to the appropriate staff for billing or payment questions Patient Check-Out Review visit documentation for accuracy and completeness Schedule follow-up appointments Collect patient balances and co-pays Assist patients by directing billing questions to the appropriate team members Office Support Process insurance referrals and maintain accurate documentation Fax Workers' Compensation forms and other required paperwork Retrieve medical records, imaging reports, and other clinical documentation Report missed post-operative appointments to physicians and care coordinators Send appointment reminders and document patient communications Maintain a clean, organized, and professional front office Support the team with additional administrative duties as needed What We're Looking For High school diploma or equivalent required Previous customer service experience preferred Medical office or healthcare experience is a plus, but we're happy to train the right candidate Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail Ability to multitask and remain composed in a fast-paced environment Positive attitude and commitment to delivering exceptional patient care Why Join NHOC?
