Job Description

Overview We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Medical Receptionist to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will be the first point of contact for patients, providing exceptional customer service while managing administrative tasks in a fast-paced medical environment. This role requires proficiency in medical terminology, scheduling, and health information management to ensure smooth operations within the practice. Responsibilities Greet patients warmly and assist them with check-in and check-out processes. Schedule appointments efficiently using medical scheduling software such as Athenahealth or Epic. Maintain accurate medical records and ensure confidentiality of patient information. Answer phone calls promptly, addressing inquiries and directing calls as necessary. Collect patient information, including insurance details and care plans, ensuring all documentation is complete. Assist with clerical duties such as filing, data entry, and managing correspondence. Collaborate with healthcare providers to coordinate patient care and follow-up appointments. Stay updated on medical terminology and office procedures to enhance patient interactions. Qualifications Previous experience as a Medical Receptionist or in a similar administrative role within a healthcare setting is preferred. Proficiency in medical scheduling software (experience with Athenahealth or Epic is a plus). Strong understanding of medical terminology and health information management practices. Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail to manage multiple tasks effectively. Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written, to interact professionally with patients and staff. Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and maintain patient confidentiality. A proactive attitude towards problem-solving and improving office efficiency.
