Job Summary We are seeking a highly organized and energetic Oral Surgery Front Office Specialist to join our dynamic dental team immediately. In this vital role, you will serve as the first point of contact for patients, ensuring a smooth and welcoming experience from appointment scheduling to check-out. Your expertise in dental office management, patient communication, and clinical support will help facilitate efficient operations within our busy oral surgery practice. Duties Greet patients warmly, verify their information, and manage appointment scheduling using patient management software such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix. Handle all front desk responsibilities including answering phones, confirming appointments, and managing patient inquiries while maintaining professionalism and a positive attitude. Prepare patient charts, update medical records, and ensure all documentation complies with HIPAA and clinical confidentiality policies. Assist with medical documentation related to oral surgery procedures, including recording vital signs and medical history accurately. Manage billing processes, insurance verifications, and pre-authorizations while maintaining accurate financial records. Support clinical staff by providing chairside assistance during procedures such as dental x-rays, oral surgery, endodontics, prosthodontics, and pediatric dentistry treatments. Maintain a clean and organized front office environment, ensuring compliance with infection control standards and aseptic techniques. Facilitate patient flow by managing waiting areas efficiently and assisting with patient care coordination for general dentistry and specialized oral surgery treatments. Qualifications Proven experience working in a dental clinic environment with familiarity in dental terminology, medical terminology, and dental equipment operation. Proficiency and experience with patient management software is highly preferred. Knowledge of HIPAA regulations, infection control protocols, dental sterilization procedures, and healthcare infection prevention practices. Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask efficiently in a fast-paced setting. Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with patients, clinical staff, and insurance providers. Familiarity with medical imaging technology like 3D scanners is a plus but not required. Knowledge of anatomy relevant to oral surgery procedures enhances patient care delivery. Certification in CPR or basic life support (BLS) is preferred but not mandatory.
