Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Per-Diem Medical Receptionist to join our healthcare team. In this vital role, you will serve as the first point of contact for patients and visitors, providing exceptional front desk support while ensuring smooth clinic operations. Responsibilities Greet patients and visitors warmly, ensuring a positive first impression Manage patient check-in and check-out processes using Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems such as Epic, Meditech, Athenahealth, or eClinicalWorks Schedule appointments efficiently, coordinate follow-ups, and update patient records accurately Verify insurance information, process medical billing, and handle collections with attention to detail Maintain clinical confidentiality policies while reviewing documentation for completeness and accuracy Answer multi-line phone systems with professional phone etiquette; direct calls appropriately Assist with medical records management, including documentation review and data entry in EMR/EHR platforms Support medical office operations by performing clerical tasks such as data entry, typing, and filing Collaborate with healthcare providers on care plans and ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations Utilize computer skills to navigate various EMR systems like Meditech, Epic, or Athenahealth efficiently Experience Prior clinic or medical office experience is highly preferred, especially in busy healthcare environments such as dental clinics or outpatient clinics Demonstrated knowledge of medical terminology, CPT coding, ICD-9/ICD-10 coding, and health insurance procedures including Medicare Experience with electronic health records (EHR) management systems such as Epic, Meditech, Athenahealth, or eClinicalWorks is essential Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively via phone and in person Bilingual abilities are a plus to serve diverse patient populations effectively Familiarity with medical billing processes, documentation review, and health information management practices Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel) along with 10-key typing skills for accurate data entry Knowledge of clinical confidentiality policies and healthcare regulations ensures compliance at all times Join our team as a Per-Diem Medical Receptionist and be part of a dynamic healthcare environment where your organizational skills and compassionate approach make a real difference.
