Know Your Team:
Hackensack Meridian Mountainside Medical Center is an 820,000-square-foot facility that offers the latest medical programs, cutting-edge technology, and patient-focused care that includes 365 beds, 1,200+ employees and a 27-bed Emergency Room/Fast Track Unit. Responsibilities The Unit Clerk is responsible for ensuring the assigned nursing unit runs efficiently. Responsible for providing secretarial support for all employees within an assigned nursing unit. Demonstrates positive interpersonal relationships with patients, visitors, other hospital departments, and unit staff. Coordinates with Care Management concerning admissions, transfers, and discharges, and notifies the hospitalist if needed. Maintains and updates patients' records for a given unit. Performs a variety of general clerical and non-clinical patient duties, facilitates communication. Expedites interdepartmental services and compiles and keeps records required on the nursing unit. Assists the nursing staff in coordinating the activity of the unit. Assists with patient care/quality assurance audits.
Qualifications Job Requirements:
High School Diploma or G.E.D. equivalent. Strong office skills as well as interpersonal skills will be considered.
Preferred Job Requirements:
1+ years' experience as a Unit Clerk in an acute care hospital. Rate of pay is determined based on experience and education, and may include other pay components such as differentials and call pay based on role.
