Job Description
Job Summary The clinic of Roland K. Sanchez is looking for an experienced and enthusiastic medical receptionist who can attend to patients for the front office, possesses good communication skills with patients on the phone and in person, coordinates and schedules appointments, assists with ordinary, urgent, or emergency support. The candidate must be able to file documentation to facilitate the smooth running of the healthcare environment to support the delivery of quality patient care. The job includes a significant amount of multitasking, office organization and bookkeeping. Having knowledge and experience of front office duties are preferred. We are looking to hire a professional who understands the value of compassionate patient care. Responsibilities Gather patient demographic and personal information Verify patient insurance Call patients for appointments Print out daily documents for front office use Ensure patient information is accurate including billing information Inform patients of medical office procedures and policy Maintain and manage patient records Move patients through appointments as scheduled Answer multi-line phones and either direct the caller to the appropriate party or handle the caller's needs yourself Provide patients with support and guidance as needed Safeguard patient privacy and confidentiality Assist in maintaining the medical office supplies and placing orders for new materials as needed Flexibility to work on assignments to accommodate office as needed Education and Experience High school diploma/GED required (Associate degree preferred) 1+ years' experience in medical reception or administration is preferred Skills Ability to handle a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks based on importance Excellent communication and problem-solving skills Detail oriented Customer service skills Adaptability, confidentiality and punctuality Knowledge of medical terminology, general administrative and clerical procedures Application of good spelling and language skills Knowledge of computer and relevant software applications Working knowledge of healthcare insurance preferred Bilingual-Spanish preferred
