Job Description
Job Overview We are seeking a friendly and organized Medical Receptionist/Biller to join our team. The ideal candidate will be the first point of contact for our patients, providing exceptional customer service and administrative support. This role requires strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment. Responsibilities Greet and register patients in a professional manner ensuring complete and correct information is entered in the PM/EHR Ability to manage multiple phone lines, answer phone calls and respond to inquiries promptly and in a professional manner providing accurate information. Appointment scheduling and calendar management Check in and out patients, collect copays, deductibles and patient fees. Document transactions, track and obtain ongoing insurance verification. Perform correct and complete data entry tasks, insurance verification and eligibility, verify benefits using automated systems, payer portals and, or telephone communication. Verify patient information prior to evaluation and explain benefits and billing process. Educate patients on their insurance coverage. Assist with administrative duties, including filing, faxing, scanning of insurance cards and documents. Assist in obtaining prior authorizations. Handle messages and email daily as necessary. Proficiency in managed care principles and practices Proficiency in Microsoft Word, familiarity with computers and scanners Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively and attention to details, punctuality and initiative are required Experience with insurance data entry and claims follow up is required. Excellent verbal and written communication skills; Knowledge of HIPPA regulations fundamentals, ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information appropriately Familiarity with CPT coding and ICD 10 codes practices Knowledge of medical terminology essentials for effective communication with the team and insurances Medical office and billing experience of minimum 2 years required. 3 professional letters of recommendation are required Candidates without medical office experience need not apply
