Job Description
Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Medical Receptionist/Clinical Support professional to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will possess strong administrative skills, clinical support experience, and a comprehensive understanding of medical office operations. In this role, you will serve as the first point of contact for patients, manage clinical documentation, and support healthcare providers in delivering efficient patient care. Your expertise in electronic health record (EHR) systems, Health insurance and medical assisting will be essential to ensure smooth clinic operations while maintaining confidentiality and compliance with healthcare regulations. The Medical Receptionist/Clinical Support will need to travel to provide reception/clinical support assistance at our Liverpool office on an as needed basis for coverage. Travel mileage and a travel stipend will be provided when traveling. Responsibilities Greet patients warmly, verify insurance information, and schedule appointments using advanced scheduling software such as Nextech. Manage patient check-in and check-out processes efficiently while maintaining excellent phone etiquette across multi-line phone systems. Review and update medical records accurately within electronic health records (EHR) systems like Nextech ensuring compliance with HIPAA and clinical confidentiality policies. Verify insurance coverage. Collect co-pays, co-insurance and deductibles from patients. Support clinical staff by preparing exam rooms, managing medical supplies, and assisting with patient intake procedures. Demonstrate proficiency in office management tasks such as data entry, typing (including 10-key), and utilizing Microsoft Office applications for administrative support. Uphold high standards of customer service by addressing patient inquiries professionally while adhering to clinical confidentiality policies. Collaborate with front desk and clinical staff to facilitate and ensure a seamless flow between the two operations. Qualifications Proven experience as a Medical Receptionist or Clinical Support staff within a healthcare setting; clinic or dental office experience is highly desirable. Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems. Strong knowledge of medical terminology, knowledge of medical coding (ICD-10, ICD-9), CPT coding, and familiarity with medical billing procedures is preferred. Experience with insurance verification processes including Medicare and health insurance claims processing. Excellent computer skills including proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite with two monitors. Ability to handle sensitive patient information with discretion in accordance with HIPAA regulations. Ability to multitask is required. Bilingual abilities are preferred to serve diverse patient populations effectively. Demonstrated organizational skills with attention to detail in documentation review and office management tasks.
